A little warm-up climb pre Cho oyu (with my trusty Welsh flag)

The Alps

I have been climbing in the Alps for the last 15 years, It is the most amazing place, You can find any level of mountaineering here. I do a lot of Winter or Solo climbs (I find this is the best way to practise for more tricky climbs in the Himalayas)
The summits I have climbed here are almost too numerous to name. I am currently working on summiting all the 4,000 metre peaks in Switzerland, France and Italy.
On the Mont Blanc Massive (my back garden!) I have climbed Mont Blanc by 4 different routes. Unfortunately it is difficult to register climbs (with the local Bureau de guides) to see if a route has been previously climbed or not. I do not climb for the glory or to 'bag summits' or to be recognised as the one to open a route. I climb mountains because I love it, it's what makes me feel alive and happy. When not on a mountain, the next expedition is never far from my mind. I live and dream it.
